Reflection:

In this lesson, I wanted to show students work that was specific to their community and that they could see in person if they chose to. I also wanted students to learn how to look at another ceramicist’s work and try to identify the techniques they used to create certain aesthetics. I found that students didn’t know much about the Haudenosaunee community but that they were quick to identify techniques that they could apply to their own projects. I found that exit ticket to be really helpful when working one on one with students to remind them of specific strategies they had identified earlier as they worked on their own pieces.
